What does UCT North America Mean to you?

What does UCT North America mean to you?

As members of a fraternal organization, what does belonging to UCT North America mean to you? Is it a chance for fellowship? An opportunity for community service? As humans, we want to align ourselves with something meaningful—what is that for you?

As a Board of Directors, we are often asked: what is the strategy? In simple terms, it is to move beyond the traditional combination of insurance and fraternity and evolve into a more dynamic fraternal service organization. We can do this by preserving the best parts of our past while embracing new ideas.

Like many fraternal organizations, our membership is aging, and we are not attracting enough younger members to sustain our numbers. Yet younger generations are also looking to be part of something bigger than themselves. So how do we share our strong history of community service with them? One way is by embracing social media—using short videos to highlight our local outreach, fundraising efforts, and scholarship programs.

One promising initiative in Arizona connects young businesspeople with referral networks to help them grow. Many of us, as experienced professionals, have an opportunity to serve as mentors to the next generation—and we should take it.

Our next convention is in July. We encourage you to attend in person or watch the meeting on Zoom. If you have ideas for the future of our fraternity, please reach out to a board member.

As we look ahead, we face a choice: do we work together to build on our past, or do we stand still? Growth is essential. While the board has ideas, we want to hear from you—what interests you most about being part of a fraternal service organization?

And if you are reading this on Facebook or LinkedIn as a nonmember, what would inspire you to join?

Fraternally yours
